$3.2 Million settlement in a medical malpractice case brought on behalf of a 14-year-old girl from Hillside, New Jersey. When she was just 16-months-old, our client was misdiagnosed by a New Jersey hospital emergency room. As a result of the misdiagnosis, there was a delay in treatment at a point when timing was absolutely critical. Consequently, the young girl had to undergo multiple surgeries and placement of a feeding tube for many of the years that followed. She now has chronic kidney disease. The settlement monies will fund a short term trust and an annuity to ensure that all of this child’s needs are met during her lifetime (Bryan H. Mintz, Essex County, 2015).
