October 30, 2015 – The United States District Court for the District of New Jersey granted a motion to remand Mintz & Geftic’s high-stakes wage & hour class action case from federal court to state court.
This decision shows that the Federal Courts are courts of limited jurisdiction and cases involving New Jersey residents against New Jersey companies, with claims under $75,000, should remain in New Jersey State Court. The case involves allegations of wage and hour violations of a food distributor company that employs truck drivers.
